Mary & Averee’s Garden & Home is more than a garden and food brand—it is a love letter to family, agriculture, home, and the belief that some of life’s best moments begin around the kitchen table.

The brand is proudly named after founder Shawn Denise’s grandmothers, Mary and Averee, two women whose names now represent a legacy being carried forward through every jar, seasoning blend, garden harvest, recipe, and product we create.

For Shawn Denise, Mary & Averee represents the connection between generations—the traditions we inherit, the knowledge we pass down, and the meals that bring families together.

After building a 20-year career in agriculture, Shawn combined her professional agricultural knowledge with her passion for gardening, cooking, creating, and homemaking to build a brand designed to make fresh, flavorful food more accessible to everyday families.

Mary & Averee’s Garden & Home was created with a simple idea:

Mary & Averee isn’t only about what happens in the kitchen. It’s also about understanding where our food comes from.

With decades of agricultural knowledge behind the brand, education is an important part of our mission.

Through our "Never Too Late to Plant" series, we encourage new and experienced gardeners to grow something of their own—whether they have acres of land, a backyard, a patio, a balcony or simply enough room for a few containers.

We share practical information about planting, soil health and fertility, harvesting, water management, plant care and manipulation, and ways to turn what you grow into something delicious.

Because we believe gardening shouldn’t feel intimidating.

Carrying the Names Forward

Naming this company Mary & Averee was intentional.

As Shawn Denise’s grandmothers, Mary and Averee represent something that cannot be manufactured: legacy.

Their names remind us that what we grow today can nourish generations we may never meet. A recipe can become a family tradition. Gardening knowledge can be passed from grandparent to grandchild. A kitchen table can become the place where stories, laughter, lessons and memories are shared.

Mary & Averee’s Garden & Home exists to continue that cycle.
